After studying theory of geography and biology (for example about climate change, problems of oceans, sustainable food etc.) students can choose Act and make an impact – tasks. These are tasks which requires student’s activity and makes it possible to influence to environment, other peoples opinions etc. After doing good work with Act and make an impact – tasks students will have badges about them.

Organize a Nordic Earth Hour or School Hour event. Promote your event on social media. Share a commercial video about the event on a social media platform. Make posters and hang them on school walls. Challenge the participants to share photos of the event on social media using #hashtags you’ve chosen.
VLOGS ABOUT PRO-CLIMATE ACTION
Create short vlogs where you tell about your and your family’s pro-climate action. Share your vlogs on for example Youtube or Vimeo.
THE BALTIC SEA – MOBILE ACTION TRACK
Create a mobile action track on posters. The topics could be for example ORGANISMS IN THE BALTIC SEA, PLASTIC BALTIC SEA, UNIQUE BALTIC SEA, MY BALTIC SEA. Add videos to your posters by using QR codes. Make sure you include the correct answers to your tasks.
Make a game, a presentation, an infographic, a news video etc. on the water footprints of different products
PLASTIC IN THE SEAS
Find out about the effects of plastic on marine organisms. Collect plastic waste from shores. Create an exhibition, a statue etc. made of the trash in the school lobby.
THREATS TO SEAS – AND MEANS TO PROTECT THEM
Find out information about the problems of the seas and the ways in which they could be protected. Discuss the topic with other Nordic go students. Draw a mind map or make a presentation on the topic.
Carry out your own anti-plastic bag campaign or organize an exhibition on the effects of plastic bags on organisms. Make papier mache organisms to your exhibition.
Look into ways of creating anti-ads for example on the Voima magazine website. Make your own anti-ad that highlights the effects of our everyday choices, for example about the food we eat, on nature, e.g. the Baltic Sea.
THE LIFESPAN OF YOUR PHONE
Make a mind map on the lifespan of your own mobile phone. Find out where you can recycle your phone. How could you lengthen the lifespan of your phone? Give a for example morning assembly talk about the things you learned.
NEW LIFE FOR AN OLD PRODUCT
Come up with a way to tune an old product into something new – a toy, a game, decoration etc. Give a one-minute commercial talk in which you convince the listener about the importance and good qualities of your product. Wrap your product in recycled material and give it as a gift to a friend.
THE STORY OF JEANS
Set up a Story of Jeans exhibition in the school lobby. Highlight the lifespan and water footprint of jeans. You can also draw attention to the human destinies related to manufacturing jeans. Encourage people to cut down on the consumption of jeans.
Collect the plastic waste your family produces for a week. Take pictures and find out what the pile of plastic consists of. Come up with means to cut down on plastic consumption in your everyday life.
MY GREEN DAY -VLOGS
Create short My Green Day vlogs (i.e. video blogs) where you tell about the day’s eco- friendly choices and the thought they bring up.
ENVIRONMENTAL ART OUT OF TRASH
Collect trash in your surroundings and make environmental artwork out of it. Take a picture and share it on social media with our shared hashtag #keyword.
BALTIC SEA ACTION
Carry out a campaign for the Baltic Sea. Make for example Baltic Sea themed postcards or a poster exhibition; set up a pop up kiosk for Baltic Sea seals where you sell seal shaped biscuits etc.
RESEARCH ON THROWAWAY FOOD
Conduct research on the amount, reasons for and consequences of throwaway food in homes, schools or home economics classes. Make for example a presentation, a poster series, infographics or a documentary about the way in which you could reduce the amount of food waste at home.

Make a meal out of throwaway food for example in the home economics class or at home.
SCHOOL FOOD CAMPAIGN
Carry out a campaign to abolish food waste in school. Come up with ideas to minimize the amount of wasted food.
ALIAS GAME ON RESPONSIBLE FOOD
Make an Alias game on responsible food. Play it with your family or friends.
Challenge your friend and family to have a vegetarian food only week with you. Write a diary or make vlogs about your week.
DISTANCE LESSON ON ANIMAL WELLBEING
Look into the concept of animal wellbeing on elaintieto.fi website. Make a lesson plan for example Nordic Go students on the topic. Give your lesson via Skype or Teams.
REASERCH ON SCHOOL FOOD
Interview the school canteen personnel and find out how environmentally friendly the school food of the day is. Write a research report where you also describe means to make the food more eco-friendly.
EAT THE ENVIRONMENT BETTER
Plan and conduct a lesson for example for primary school pupils about eco-friendly and ethical food.
